

Johnny “John” Gist, 56, of Alma, AR, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in a local hospital. He was born October 4, 1953 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He drove a cement truck for Mid-Continent Concrete and attended Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren. He loved the Razorbacks, coaching the girls softball team in Van Buren, and helping with the Van Buren band.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lisa Gist of the home; one daughter, Jennifer Archer of the home; two brothers, Jimmy Gist and his wife Patti of Van Buren, AR; Jerry Gist and his wife Valerie of Mansfield, AR.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Sat, June 26, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Ree, Bob Seibech, Kenny Henson, Phillip Patterson, David Moore, James Ridenour, John Burgett, and Keith Anderson
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
