Joseph Allen Wing Jr.

Joseph Allen Wing, Jr., 85, of Van Buren, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 at his home. He was born March 23, 1941 in Decatur, Illinois to the late Joseph and Ethel (Dyer) Wing, Sr. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a Fort Smith fireman for over 30 years, retiring as a Fire Marshal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Wing; and a sister, Judy Williams.

He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Skelly and husband John of Van Buren; a son, Thomas Wing and wife Renee of Van Buren; a sister, Marsha Cox of Decatur, Illinois; a brother, Phillip Wing of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Aaron Hodges (Jessica), Jerry Wing (Carlie), Justin Wing (Megan), Connor Skelly, Jake Wing (Lindsey), and Jackson Wing (Lindsey); and twelve great-grandchildren, Evelyn Belt, Joel Hodges, Ella Wing, Natalie Wing, David Wing, Clayton Wing, Tanner Wing, Rya Wing, Ava Wing, Waylon Wing, Mason Thomas, and Bennett Thomas.

Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren. Ashes will be placed at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
