

Kenneth Wayne McKown, 84, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026. He was born June 27, 1942 in Alma to the late Bert and Reba Dell (Lee) McKown. He served his country in the U.S. Army; and had worked for Whirlpool for 30 years. He loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. He belonged to Hawg Hunters and the Whirlpool Bass Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Fox; and two sisters, Jeanie Gentry and Joyce Jordan.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margie McKown of the home; a daughter, Lisa Osborne of Owasso; four sons, Kenny Fox of Van Buren, Michael McKown of Westwood, California, Kevin McKown of Oklahoma City, and Keith Osborne of Van Buren; a sister, Teresa Burnett of Spiro; a brother, Pete McKown of Bond Special; fifteen grandchildren, Blake, Alia, Amanda, Cheyenne, Shanece, Shanae, Candace, Aaron, Kenny, Keith Jr., Kwan, Justin, Zane, Aaron, and Lindsey; and seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. Ashes will be placed at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
