Lillian Irene Porter House, 92, of Dyer, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 10, 1931 in Dyer, to the late Albert and Floye (Tilley) Porter. She was a 1949 graduate of Alma High School and later graduated from Arkansas Tech - Ozark with a nursing degree. She married the love of her life, Tom House on August 31, 1953. She and Tom were married for 70 years, and lived in Dyer for more than 60 years, where they raised a beautiful family. She retired from her nursing career in 1991. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, and reading; and she loved the Arkansas Razorbacks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis (L.D.) Porter; and a sister, Wanda Dyer.
She is survived by her husband, Tom House of the home; a son, Steve and wife Jane of Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota; a son, Paul and wife Anne of Weatherford, Oklahoma; a daughter, Beth Raines and husband James of Mulberry; a daughter, Amy House of Dyer; a brother, Charles Porter of Ottawa, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
Lillian was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed greatly.
