

Linda Lou Barnes, 84, of Kibler, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026 in Fayetteville. She was born June 20, 1941 in Prairie Grove to the late Joe and Mary Sue (Carney) Jones. She was a homemaker, a member of Van Buren First Assembly of God, and had worked at Parks Brothers Nursery for 26 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jim Barnes; a daughter, Stacey Smith and her husband, Randy; a son, Shawn Barnes and his wife Kim; and a sister, Judy Carter.
She is survived by a brother, Jerry Jones of Prairie Grove; and three grandchildren, Maria, Jake, and Bryson Barnes.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Randy Friddle, Justin Carter, Bryson Barnes, Jake Barnes, Stoney Woodruff, and Dalton Woodruff.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
