Mamie Juanita Burns, 88, of Van Buren, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Van Buren. She was born June 14, 1928 in Ranger County, GA to the late Grover and Effie Wilson. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Leisa Lehtinen.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Burns of the home; three daughters, Angela Madril of San Bernardino, CA, Yvette Hoehle of Tucson, AZ, and Yvonne Johnson of Malibu, CA; three sons, Ken Moon of Whitmore, CA, James Moon of Seattle, WA, and Bobby Burns of Van Buren; eighteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment of cremains to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
