Mary Ellen Grooms

Mary Ellen Grooms, 89, of Chelsea, OK, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her home. She was born March 22, 1923 in Memphis, TN to the late James and Mattie Lou Solley. She was a retired LPN for St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd W. Grooms, and two sons, William and Floyd A. Grooms.

She is survived by three daughters, Bettie Bromaghin and husband Virgil of Van Buren, Sharon Diann Feary of Chelsea, OK, and Ollie Jones of Van Buren; a sister, Fannie Walls of Alma; a brother, Joe Walker of Holly Springs, MS; twenty-two grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2013 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Van Buren with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Rosary service will be held 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Edwards Van Alma Funeral Chapel in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Henderson, Cody Henderson, Virgil Bromaghin, Deryl Keifer, Donavan Askins, and Ryan Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Bromaghin, and Lee Keifer, III.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Edwards Van Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.
