Matthew Phillip Cartwright, 72, of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at his home. He was born July 29, 1951 in Norfolk, VA to the late Jarvis and Dot (Reid) Cartwright. He was a retired drilling coordinator for Alber Irrigation, and had been a maintenance supervisor for Planters Peanuts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jake Ryan Scherrey.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Cartwright of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth Scherrey and husband Bryan of Van Buren, and Amy Epperson of Fort Smith; four sons, Matt Cartwright of Austin, TX, Zachary Cartwright of Colorado Springs, Brandon Epperson of Hot Springs, and Kevin Epperson of Alma; two sisters, Lois Dustin of Portsmouth, VA, and Nancy Williams of Norfolk, VA; a brother, Bill Cartwright of Norfolk; and twelve grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
