Two wonderful people who met at a place in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon called Mountain House.
She was a Waitress, he was a log truck driver. They met at a time that was perfect for all us kids. Mom never had kids but all of a sudden she was mom to 6 children ages newborn to 9 years old. She opened her heart and arms to all of us and loved us unconditionally. Dad told her is was a packaged deal, all or nothing. She of course accepted.
Dad and mom were perfect together. We always did things as a family. Every weekend that was available we went fishing and camping.
The old cliché of "the rest is history" doesn't apply because there is so much history we could write a book that would go on forever. There were a lot of ups and downs, but through those times we learned and grew stronger.
Everything us kids are today and the way we love and raise our kids and live is due to all the qualities instilled in us is because of mom and dad.
When mom passed in January 2011 dad was so lost and broken hearted. Knowing now that they are together again helps give us peace.
They both worked hard everyday to provide for us and make sure we had what we needed. Most of that was unconditional love.
We will miss them everyday but we were so fortunate and blessed that God chose us all to became a family and be loved so much. They truly were the best parents and grandparents.
They were also wonderful son and daughter and brother and sister to their own families.
We are very grateful to them for everything. We love you dad and mom.
Until we all meet again.
