Norma Lee Watkins, 85, of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born August 19, 1932 in Fort Smith to the late Carl and Cara Hays. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hooley “Gene” Watkins; a granddaughter, Erica Lynn Herod; two brothers, Henry Hays, and Ernest Hawkins; and a sister, Louise Henderson.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Herod and husband Gene of Cedarville, and Joy Watkins of Van Buren; a son, Ronnie Watkins and wife Stacey of Alma; a sister, Frances “Midge” Hancock and husband Harold of Van Buren; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
