Samuel Lee Willhite, 75, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 in Van Buren. He was born April 7, 1941 in Paris, AR to the late Joshua and Myrtle Willhite. He retired from the U.S. Navy and Lockheed Martin. He was a member of Butterfield Assembly of God in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Willhite of the home; a daughter, Lorie Wilson of Van Buren; a son, Samuel Dallas Willhite of Schwenksville, PA; three sisters, Shirley Shearer of Arizona, Amanda Smith of Arkoma, and Ruth DeLoach of Florida; seven brothers, Josh Wilson Willhite of Ozark, Leon Willhite of Tempe, AZ, Reuben Willhite of San Jose, CA, Andy Willhite of Paris, AR, Phillip Willhite of Paris, AR, David Willhite of Fort Smith, and George Willhite of Paris, AR; and two grandchildren, Tommy Lee Wilson and Gabriel Robert Willhite.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
