Shirley Johnson

Shirley Weems Johnson, 75, of Uniontown, died Monday, July 15, 2013 in Van Buren. She was born September 18, 1937 in Dumas, AR to the late Howard and Alice Orrell. She was the Deli Manager at Snyder’s IGA in Yukon, OK, an Avon rep, and a volunteer cook for the Cedarville Senior Center. She enjoyed ceramics, cake baking, sewing, and crocheting. She attended Christian Life Ministries in Van Buren.

She is survived by three sons, Loyd Weems and Kenney Weems of Yukon, OK, and Doug Weems of Alma; three sisters, Brenda Frazier of White Hall, AR, Judy Wrinkle of Stuttgart, AR, and Geneva McBee of Wright, AR; a brother, Buster Orrell of Arkansas; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Nooner Cemetery near Plainview, AR, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
