Thelma Marie Hammons Woosley

Thelma Marie Hammons Woosley, 89, of Van Buren, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 in Alma. She was born July 18, 1932 in Stapp, OK to the late James and Dealie Raulston. She retired from Whirlpool and was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Alma.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Herbert “Pete” Woosley and Bob Mack Hammons; a sister, Sue Bodine; and a brother, Dickie Raulston.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Baxter and husband Phillip of Alma, and Becky Cox of Fort Smith; a son, Bob Hammons and wife Sharon of Van Buren; a sister, Helen Goins and husband Larry of Van Buren; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as three stepsons.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Baxter, Jason Hammons, Travis Davis, Neal Nielsen, Johnny Dean and Judd Boster.

The family will visit with friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
