

Tom Harness, 79, of Mulberry, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at his home. He was born December 11, 1936 in Alma to the late John and Lillie May Harness. He worked at Bekaert for 23 years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Mulberry, and drove the church bus for 17 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister, and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Harness of the home; four daughters, Velta Thomas and husband Rob of Van Buren, Barbara Morse and husband David of Mulberry, LeJuan Wilson and husband Gary of Mulberry, and Angelia Chancey of Altus; two sons, Bobby Harness and wife Valarie of Ozark, and Thomas Harness and wife Becky of Elwood, IN; a brother, Clifford Harness of Arizona; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday October 10, 2016 at the First Assembly of God in Mulberry with interment to follow at New Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Hunter King, Brandon Chancey, Anthony Whitman, Steve Shipley, Jerry Drummonds, and Keith Millsap. Honorary pallbearers will be Eldon Hill, John Harness, Robert Harness, Matthew Chancey, and Zachery Chancey.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
