

Tommy Henry Holt, 91, of Alma, passed peacefully Thursday, February 26, 2026. He was born December 13, 1934 in Alma, to James Elijah and Nora Ethel (Parker) Holt. Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964. Following his military service, he owned and operated Holt Truck Repair in Fort Smith, where he was known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and mechanical skill.
An avid outdoorsman, Tommy enjoyed bass fishing and trapping. He was a renowned archer whose trophy elk and deer earned him membership on the Oneida Archery hunting staff. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Tommy taught himself to fly experimental aircraft and also built and raced cars at local tracks. His adventurous spirit and determination were evident in all he pursued.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Tamra Holt; his children, Mary Ann Holt, Teresa Holt Carson, and Melinda Bailey (Gregory); four grandchildren, Hunter Carson, Taylor Young (Brody), Aubrey Whitehead (Kenny), and Grayson Bailey (Elissa); and five great-grandchildren, Everest, Stevie, and Archer Young, and Gannon and Jolie Whitehead, all of Alma. He is also survived by a brother, Johnny Holt (Loretta) of Mulberry, along with many nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2026 at Gill Cemetery with David Holt officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Honorary pallbearers are friends, Steve Carson, Kirby Smith and Scott Montgomery, and family members, Johnny Holt, Hunter Carson, Brody Young, Grayson Bailey, and Gregory Bailey.
Tommy will be remembered for his independence and ingenuity. His legacy lives on in the generations who call him husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
