It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vicki Kim Taylor (née McCormick), a woman of strong spirit and boundless love. Vicki was born on June 19, 1963; she passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith after a long-fought battle with cancer.
Through her journey of 63 years, she touched many lives with her humor, her warm heart, and her unwavering perseverance. Her boundless kindness drove her to a long, fulfilling career at Alma Health and Rehab as a CNA, then Activities Assistant. There, she was one of the silliest, friendliest staff members, and she cared deeply for both the residents and her fellow friends on the team.
Vicki loved her family with her whole heart. She always wanted to be a mother and birthed two daughters after marrying her best friend Ernie Taylor. Anyone who knew her knew that she put them above all else.
She never met a stranger. Her family goes beyond shared blood and she has several “adopted” kids and siblings that she adored sincerely.
She loved to laugh and smile, and she always tried to instill that value in others. You could see her grin from a mile away even on the cloudiest of days.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her loving father, John McCormick, her mother, Margaret McCormick, and two of her brothers, John and Mark McCormick.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ernie Taylor; daughters, Jonna and Tori Taylor, and stepson, Tony Vollmar; brother, Tracy McCormick; best friend and chosen sister, Patty Peters; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends and family.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, Van Buren, AR. There will be a service at a later date.
