Violet Elsie Austin, 69, of Van Buren, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025. She was born June 6, 1955 in Houston, TX to the late David and Valre (Plant) Austin, Sr. She was the office manager for a real estate company, and was a devout Christian doing volunteer work since she was a teenager.
She is survived by a daughter, Meredith Poindexter of Wagoner, Oklahoma; a son, Zachary Wayne Austin of Van Buren; a brother, David Lloyd Austin, Jr. of California; and two grandsons, Reese Lee Poindexter and Rustin Lloyd Poindexter.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
