

Walker H. Hagar, II, 65, of Van Buren, AR, departed this earthly life Tuesday November 27, 2012 in a local hospital. He was born August 7, 1947 in Alturas, CA to the late Rev. Walker Hagar, Sr. and Tennie Sadler Hagar. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Saint-Gobain Proppants, and a satellite and communications engineer for Hagar Electronics. He served with the U.S. State Department, and as a Crawford County Reserve Deputy and the Civil Defense Fire & Rescue Team. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Hagar.
Walker attended Van Buren High School, Southern Arkansas University in Camdem, AR, and Westark Community College in Fort Smith.
“Corky” to family and friends, and “Doc” to coworkers, was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and held a third-degree black belt in Tungsudo having received special recognition from Chuck Norris. He piloted his own ultra-light plane, loved air shows, enjoyed motorcycles, and loved them HAWGS.
He is survived by his beloved wife Joyce Elaine Hagar, of the home; a son, Walker H. Hagar, III; a grandson, Brandon Walker Hagar; a great-grandson, Gabriel Hagar; and a step-son, James Bradford. He also leaves behind Bobbie Workman Brewer, while not child of his body, she is a child of his heart.
Mr. Hagar will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Memorial service will be 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel, Van Buren, AR.
