Wilma Gean Reid

Wilma Gean Reid, affectionately known as “Nan,” peacefully left this earth on January 5, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on January 30, 1940, in Arkansas, Wilma lived a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured moments.

Wilma brought joy to everyone in her family with her sassy, playful personality, and sense of humor. Summers at the lake or hanging by the pool with her family were among her happiest times, where countless cherished memories were made. She loved the thrill of driving her red Mustang convertible, riding the Harley with Pop, visiting her favorite casinos, and listening to Elvis.

Above all, Wilma loved her family deeply. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Wilma was preceded in death by her father, James Odell Bennett; her mother, Leota “Mickey” Loveall; her stepfather, James “Jimmy” Loveall; her husband, Douglas Allen Reid; her sister, Barbara Ann Hutchins; and her brother-in-law, Bill Wiginton.

She is survived by her loving family – her brother, James Bennett (Margaret); her daughters, Teresa Staub and Christine Williams (Jeff); her cherished grandchildren, Crystal Harris (Alex), Nicholas Williams (Chrissie), Josh Williams (Brittany), and Brandon Williams (Hannah); and her seven great-grandchildren, Abygail, Cambree, Benjamin, Sebastian, Liliana, Oakleigh, and Cohen. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Alex Harris, Jeff Williams, Nick Williams, Josh Williams, Brandon Williams, and Billy Craft.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
