Fortunato Castro Garcia

Fortunato Castro Garcia was born in Manila on June 11, 1925. He was the youngest child of Mariano Garcia and Amada Castro. His siblings were Diosdado (deceased), Rosendo (deceased), Peping (deceased) and Estelita Benito, who now resides in Sydney Australia. He was orphaned at the age of 5 and was raised by an Aunt who happened to be a teacher. His Aunt instilled in him the importance of a good education. After she passed, he continued his studies by becoming a working student. He was able to support himself and due to perseverance and hard work, he was able to complete his studies and earn a degree at Far Eastern University. After World War II, he met Consolacion David. They fell in love and married on Sept 11,1946.

They were blessed with 7 children; Teresita(deceased), Fortunato Jr., Augusto(Gus), Danilo, Napoleon, Rico and Olivia. He worked at Finch as a Salesman, Macondry as a Manager and finally Ault & Wiborg as Vice President in Sales. After his retirement he decided to venture into the Real Estate World and became a successful Licensed Real Estate Broker.

Fortunato was very sweet and romantic husband to Consolacion. As a father, he was a good provider. He managed to send all his children to prestigious schools and they all successfully graduated College. He was also a loving and devoted father. Fortunato doted upon his children. Often, after coming home from the office, he would bring them candy and food as a gesture of his love.
