Martha was born in Havana, Cuba and came to live in the United States In 1959 when she married Joseph Kerr from Auburn, New York. Joseph was a disabled WW2 army veteran. Together they had a daughter Linda Kerr.
Martha had a doctorate degree in child psychology and special education from The University of Havana. While in Cuba she worked with special education children until she married in 1959 and moved to Auburn. While living in Auburn, New York she taught spanish at The Auburn Community College.
Martha was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, wife and niece. She was a proud US citizen and loved this country. She always helped others in their time of need and was doing volunteer work helping The United Way. She was a poster model for them for a few
years. She retired after 25 years of service as a hospital ward supervisor at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Florida. In 2003 she moved to Los Angeles to be near her daughter.
Martha is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Kerr, mother, Leonor Oteiza, father, Luis Oteiza, uncle, Luis Carricarte, and uncle, Gonzalo Forcade. She is survived by daughter Linda Kerr- Salaita, son-in-law, Nicholas Salaita, granddaughter, Nicolette and brother, Roberto Oteiza and sister-in -law, Gladys Oteiza.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday November 4th at 10:30 am

She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Miami, Florida later in the week.
