Agnes Joyce Abercrombie

April 26, 1931-February 15, 2014

Joyce Abercrombie passed away on February 15, 2014, at peace at last after a long, valiant battle with a series of health crises. She was 82 years old. Left to mourn are her longtime partner, Jim Strong, and her loving children, Sharon (Rudy), Jim (Corrine) and Robyn (John). Joyce will be very much missed by all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Robert (Jaimie), Kristin (Johnny), Melanie, David, Brian, Rachel, Robert, Wynter (Marc), Adrien, Nathan, Aliana, Isabelle and Kayden. In addition, her dear older brother, Bill McPike, and a large group of nieces and nephews will always remember her with great fondness. Special thanks go out to the family of Linda and Ray Stubbington, who were wonderfully supportive of Joyce through the years, and to the staff of Burnaby General Hospital, who did everything they could to ease her suffering. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver BC (604-325-7441). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the British Columbia Lung Association.
