I am so very shocked right now. I know we reconnected a few years ago and I just looked you up now to come and visit again. I need to know what happened to you. I am so sad. You are with God now and I will see you in heaven. You were the best Alex. I met you in the group home with Bob and the gang and remember our sweet relationship. You are a very special and dear friend to me, with so much kindness and I always felt deeply touched especially when we connected during your last months, how you could be in the midst of it all.

It has been 18 years since we danced into each other's life.  Only you have the light and the love that turns wilt into fresh, droop into glory. I first met Alex when I started working at group homes. He was my manager, and always had a smile and a laugh ready. Alex showed care and compassion to both the residents and staff. His positive attitude will sadly be missed.

I worked with Alex in the SP program at UBC.  He was always exceptionally kind and professional.  A smile for everyone and always ready with a few kind words, he made people feel immediately comfortable.  He will be greatly missed.

Dear Alex, 
You first touched my life 18 years ago when I was only 21 at our work place at the time. As an on-call manager you were very thankful i took a night shift at overtime to help you out. Little did I know you had chocolates and a heartfelt “thank you” card waiting for me the next day.  Alex, you are just that kind of a beautiful person that touches people’s lives in an authentic and real way, one of those people one cannot forget. Even though we lost touch for over 15 years, I never forgot your genuine smile and your beautiful soul. I tried finding you on facebook but you are old fashioned that way, but in the end we were meant to meet again when we ran into each other at a store. I am now deeply happy we got to reconnect over lunch only short 5 months ago, and only wish i had the courage to tell you how much your friendship deeply touched me. You have taught me now never to wait until its too late to share with people what they mean to me...as i will never have a chance again to tell you. 
I truly hope you are in a better place Alex, and i truly feel heartbroken knowing that you suffered. Know you will be forever missed ❤️

It’s been five years since I retired as the Manager of the UBC SP Program but I have very special memories of the amazing people I worked with, Alex being one of the most special. He was a lovely, caring person, always a smile on his face. I was very saddened to hear of his passing and can only imagine the grief his family and close friends are experiencing. 
Alex, I can picture your face, as if it were yesterday, and will hold that image in my heart. I hope there is a hereafter and that you are on your way to your next adventure. Hugs across time and space, Maggie.

This is such surprising, and terribly sad news. I have known Alex for many years through the UBC Standardized Patient program, and though we never worked directly together, we saw each other regularly. He was always ready with a smile and a friendly chat to catch up. 

My heart goes out to all Alex's family and friends.

I've known Alex for many years through our work in the standardized patient program at UBC.  Whether it had been a few months or even a few years since we had last seen each other his face would light up when he saw you, a beaming smile and genuine curiosity to know what you had been up to.

Alex's joy, his warmth, and  his unfailing positivity is an inspiration to me always.  His glass was never half empty, always fully full.  He is a beautiful and amazing person.

Alex.....sharing the poem I wrote....just for you....May you rest in peace as I treasure all the memories of our unique 35 year friendship and bond.  I shall miss you dearly.

Hi Alex,
I had wanted to send this message for sometime now. Something else always gets in the way. The busyness of life. Please forgive me in this regard. 

The essence of the message to you was to ask if you knew where you were going when the time came. Seems silly but I’m sure you’ve had some time to think about it. I fully believe that when we die it is just our bodies that die but the soul continues and if you hadn’t heard this Good News before, then I would be remiss if I didn’t share it with you.

There is a God and He does love us. But the things we do force us to always be apart from Him. He came down in the form of man to show us how to love Him and others and thus be The presence of God here on earth. 

That’s what I would’ve said if I had sent the message on time. All I can do now is regret my inaction and hope that I will see you one day In Heaven.
