With profound sorrow we anounce that our beautiful son Alex has passed away.
Alex's long and winding road came to an end June 15, 2022.
His passing was of unintended consequences and Alex leaves us all heartbroken.
Alex was the most loving and wonderful child of Doris and Hugh.
Alex achieved so much in his short life, his candle burned bright.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid broadside in a cloud of smoke thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "Wow, what a ride"
Alex did just that.
The unvarnished truth is that Alex had a secret, that must now be shared.. He was the kindest and gentlest of souls, and was capable of the depths of love that few of us will ever know.
He adored and cared for his family and leaves behind his devoted and loving mother Doris Webb, his loving father Hugh , supportive step father Dan Webb.
Alex also leaves his compassionate and giving sister Jennifer, her husband Byron Halpenny and his neice MacKenzie and nephew Landen.
He also leaves his loving big brother Christopher Shirreff and his wife Jill and his nephew Brody and niece Hailey.
He leaves many other family and friends behind.
Alex traveled far in his life, and his presence touched many people in all walks of life. He judged no one, while deeply caring for everyone.
Alex totally lived his life to Billy Joel's.. I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.
Alex..we will never stop loving you, we will always miss you and we will never forget you.
You were more than just a son you were my best friend...mom
His unexpected departure has left a huge void in all his family and friends .
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.vancouvercrematorium.com for the SHIRREFF family.
