Hello to Tony's family. I offer my sincere condolences regarding Tony's passing. I just recently did a search to see if Tony was still in Montreal and sadly came across his obituary.

My name is Noel D'Souza. I am now 56 years old. I met Tony at Summer Camp either in 1976 or 1977. I believe the camp was called Trail's End Camp situated in St. Alphonse de Rodrigues near Joliette. We became friends at camp and stayed in touch for a few years afterwards. In fact, we went to see the blockbuster Star Wars together and had to sit in the first row with our necks tilted upwards during the whole movie (which was painful but definitely worth it during the hyper speed scene). I remember Tony being so excited after the movie, that he wanted to go right back in and see it again !

My memory tells me that Tony lived in the Decarie/Queen-Mary area of Montreal. And seeing his picture confirms to me that I had found the correct Tony Zapata, sadly through his obituary.

I have fond memories of a lively and outgoing Anthony as a child in Montreal and I treasure them.  I am sorry that he left us as early as he has.  My condolences and love to all those to whom he mattered most as they continue on the journey of life.  

I am very sorry to hear about Anthony's passing.  I grew up with him when we went to Iona school in Montreal in the early 70s. I also knew his family at the time (brother, sister, mother), a nice family. I found out about his death by accident. I realize it is late to pass on this message, but I did want to do so anyways.

Though we parted ways nearly 30 years ago he has not been forgotten these many years.   As unfortunate as it may have been, we have not been in contact with him in all of that time.  Too which he may not have been aware, he has left behind two nephews (one who had been named after him), three nieces, is survived by his younger sister, his older brother and his mother, who is still living.  It is my hope that he continued to play music and that it played a part in his life, as I recall that he definitely had the talent that would have been of benefit to him.  If there is anyone that can shed any light on his life during the past 30 years, it would be greatly appreciated.
