Arne was born at Vancouver General Hospital on May 7, 1935.
At age 3, he travelled to Norway and grew up during turbulent times of World War II. He enjoyed living on the farm in Norway. All during his life, he loved to work in the garden surrounding the home he built himself. He had been a firefighter, a carpenter and later a Building Inspector for the City of Vancouver. But most important to him was his faith and his family. Arne married his most precious Wendy on August 15, 1959 and together they were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses on September 9, 1961. What was most precious for all who knew him was that he gladly shared his time and became father and grandfather to many.
He was wonderfully cared for by the staff at Vancouver General Hospital – the Palliative Care Unit – 16th floor. He fell asleep in death, peacefully, surrounded by family and friends singing words of faith and comfort with tears on September 29, 2015.
Arne will be deeply missed by his wife, Wendy, of 56 years; his sons, Christopher (Toni), Lindsey (Felicia), and daughter, Lise (Guil); granddaughter Keana; and great grandchildren, Rainey and Noah; and extended family and many dear friends.
The memorial will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 5975 Sunset Street (off Sprott Street), Burnaby, BC.
