February 18, 1938 – December 15, 2016
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin Francisco. Ben went “home” peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Beth – his soulmate of 55+ years. He leaves behind his son Roland and his wife Roselle; daughter Grace and her husband Paul, and three grandchildren; Samantha, Dylan and Bella.
Ben was born in the Philippines and brought his young family to Canada in 1969. Here he carved out a happy and comfortable life for himself and his family. He loved spending time with his family – especially later on with his grandchildren. He loved having Sam, Dylan and Bella help him to plant vegetables in his garden which he diligently tended to.
Ben was an active and loyal member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight, District Deputy, Navigator and Guard Commander for the San Lorenzo Ruiz Assembly. He could always be counted on to help friends and members of the community if anyone needed transportation. He was also involved in helping with the soup kitchen at St. Patrick’s and participated in many fundraising events for charity.
Ben was also a member of Couples for Christ and the Charismatic Renewal.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
Jesus
Jesus my Lord how great thou art,
Jesus my God most sacred heart;
Jesus my king from up above,
To thee I give my heart my love.
Jesus sovereign whom I adore
Jesus who reigns forevermore,
Jesus divine to thee i implore;
Show me the way to heavens door.
My journey here on earth will end
My sinful ways I must amend,
Loving Savior humbly I pray
Take me with thee to live forever.
The life I knew will be no more,
I fear the death that kills the soul;
Merciful Lord on me bestow
The joys of heaven, where all good things flow.
My life long wish is to embrace,
Jesus when we meet face to face,
Forever I will long thy praise,
With all the angels, saints and blest.
Jesus my Lord when that day comes,
Jesus my God thy will be done,
Jesus my king who reigns sublime,
Receive me Lord in thy kingdom.
Rest in peace my love - Beth
