

Bernice was known for her talent in the kitchen, especially for her perogies and cookies. She was a beloved matriarch and leader in her family, always welcoming friends and loved ones with open arms. Her generosity extended beyond her family as she dedicated her time to volunteering for her church and other charitable organizations. Bernice enjoyed traveling and entertaining, enriching the lives of those around her.
She worked as a waitress at the White Spot dining room in Oakridge Mall, showcasing her dedication to serving others with warmth and kindness.
Bernice worshiped at St. Patrick's Parish and found solace and comfort, with the community in her faith.
In her free time, she found joy in cooking, baking, and volunteering, activities that brought her fulfillment and happiness.
Bernice is survived by her siblings brother Steve and sisters Gail and Veronica as well as children Barry (Terry), Sherry (James), Kelvin, Teresa, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Sikora and son-in-law, Gordon Whenham.
A service to honor Bernice's life will be held at St. Patrick's Parish, 2881 Main St., Vancouver on April 15th. There will be a viewing at 10:00 am followed by a service at 10:50 am, with a social gathering to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your favorite Senior Association or facility in Bernice's memory.
