I think fondly of my Aunt Betty. My earliest memory was driving to Vancouver from  Lloydminster to visit my Grandparents and Aunt Betty & Uncle Freddy & family.

Aunt Betty took me to see the movie My Fair Lady when I was about 14 years old and it’s still one of my all time favourites.

She was so kind, giving and patient.

May she rest in peace 💕

 I have known Betty ever since my family and I moved to Vancouver to Napier Street and Betty lived just across from us. We developed almost instantly a very special friendship which lasted all these years despite the fact that we moved across the country to Ontario, where we are residing now.
All these years we stayed in touch. She was a very dear friend of mine and she will be greatly missed.But she will always stay close to my heart, never forgotten.

Betty will be fondly remembered for her kind and caring ways by her many,  many friends.  Her friendship was dear to my Mother, Ruth Williams, and to me. Dear Marshall family;
I was reminiscing with mom the other day on their 65 year friendship. Even though mom's memory is fading, she still has vivid and fond memories of Betty, Freddy and the family and smiles when thinking of you.  Even though they couldn't see each other very often in these past years, the phone calls meant a lot.
Betty will be sorely missed. Gone but not forgotten.

The kindest, most loving woman in the old neighborhood. I am sure your family will miss you so much.

Betty, Freddy, David, Jim and Janice lived across the street from us on 25th avenue for many years and have always been like family.  Betty has always been like a second Mother and was my Mother's best friend.  Betty always shared so many wonderful stories about the times our families spent together while on 25th avenue and beyond.  And, of course  I have so many very precious memories of their visits with us;  special occations and just sitting at the Kitchen table having tea and eating sandwiches with her famous "chow chow" relish, dinners at Swiss Charlet and Tony Roma's. Betty's support for our Mother Meta when Dad died was constant and unwavering.  She phoned Mum every day to make sure she wasn't ever lonely.  A true and loving friend.  Janice was like a little sister and was so precious to the Marshall's and Gilberts.  Now Betty will rest with her beloved daughter Janice and soulmate Freddy and will be once again in the arms of her life long friends Meta and Jack.  I stayed in touch with Betty and family well after they left 25th ave.  My last memory of Betty was at St. Michael's on Mother's  Day when I suprised her with a visit.  She was delighted and we held hands and shared a few precious moments.  Her hand was smooth and frail. Despite her pain, she still had lots of smiles for me and despite her smile s I knew our future times together would soon begone forever.  I will be forever thankful for that memory.  Farerewell Betty.  You no long have to suffer the trials of this earth and we are glad for you.  We have always loved you for your generous heart and you will live on vividly in our memories, forever with us.  Kathy Gilbert
