Bik Wan Chiu

Bik Wan Chiu, passed away June 21, 2016 at the age of 75 years. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, where a Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC. Arrangements entrusted to Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, Vancouver, BC. 604.255.5444.

Bik Wan (Cynthia) was born on December 6, 1940 in Guangdong, China and immigrated to Canada on June 10th, 1961. On June 24th 1961, she married Kam Yin Chiu. For rest of her life she dedicated herself in supporting and raising 3 beautiful children Desmond , Patrick and Levern. She integrated into Canadian Society where she met wonderful lifelong friends in English classes at a Chinatown church. Cynthia worked at various jobs including Townline Sewing Factory. In 1977, our parents took a bold move and purchased a corner grocery store in New Westminster. After her retirement in the 90's, she always kept busy with travel, senior community centre and finally her devotion to the Maitreya Buddhist Temple.

She leaves behind a devoted and loving husband Kam Yin , 3 happily married kids (Desmond & Elaine, Pat & Diana and Levern & Bob) and 7 wonderful grandchildren (Victoria, Alicia, Jessica, Richard, Alexander, Sylvia and Kristina).

We all love and miss you mom and always will.
