Charles C. Y. Chan was born in the 1920s. He was infected with tuberculosis, but heard the Gospel while being treated in a hospital. Not long afterwards, he became a born again Christian in his 20s. His church life began and met a sister, Mei, who became his wife. He served as a translator for many preachers and taught Children Sunday School.
Being the only breadwinner, Mr. Chan took on multiple jobs at the same time to support his wife, three children and two elderly parents. For the purpose of their children to have a better chance of higher education and career opportunities, he decided to immigrate to Canada in the 70s. Then, he continued to serve in the church and led Bible study classes. He is now fallen asleep in Jesus and waiting for the second return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife, three children, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM, on December 16, 2024 at Mount Pleasant Universal Funeral home in Vancouver BC.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Chan family.
