Damien was born on February 24th, 1986, in Smithers, BC. He was the youngest son born to loving parents Frank and Vina Leung, and loving siblings Sonja, Daggar, Desmen, and Sashia. Damien was tiniest and happiest of them all. Damien was the bestest little brother, in the truest sense that he completed the family with a little brother to love, to look after, and the one who brought them closer together.
Damien was also so proud to be an uncle and great-uncle to incredible nieces and nephews that enriched his life. He has many cousins and extended family that he cared for and loved. He was the “President” to his uncles and aunties, as he used to say “I am Damien Franklin Leung and one day I am going to be the President” when he was younger.
Damien was proud to be both Chinese and First Nations - Wet’suwet’en, from the beautiful community of Witset in northern interior BC. Damien loved growing up in small town with great friends and a great community. There are so many memories and good times that evolve around Damien and his connections and relations. From playing soccer, going on road trips, and exploring new places and adventures. His bestfriends were his brothers and friends were family.
Damien befriended all people because he was raised to acknowledge, care, and include all people. Treat others with respect and dignity and that care will come back. His light and smile shined bright even in the darkest of times. He also loved living in the city, enjoying all sorts of delicious food and taking pleasure in the simple things. Vancouver was his home away from home, and also where he met his soulmate Sharon and began a beautiful family of his own.
When he was 24 years old, Damien was blessed to become a father to first born son Kai, and then blessed again two years later when Damien Jr was born. His greatest and immeasurable accomplishments in his lifetime were being a bestfriend and loving partner to his wife Sharon, and being a loving, caring and #1 Dad to his sons. He grew the Leung family to incredible depths of love and joy when him and Sharon blessed the family with another generation of caring sons.
His sons, “My Boys”, were everything to him. He loved taking them to parks, events, movies, and city cruises. Sharing in experiences and in love with his wife and his sons. Sharon and Damien were proud to be such loving and caring parents. They built a life full of eternal and unconditional love. He wished for his sons to live happy lives. For them to be supported, go to college, achieve their dreams, and have the best life.
Damien was 34 years young when he went on to the spirit world to be with late loved ones and our ancestors on November 15, 2020. His legacy, life, and love live on through his family. Damien is cherished, missed, and will never be forgotten. We love you Damien with every bit of us and will keep you forever in our hearts.
Ever eternal love. All our Relations.
