We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother, Dolores Zilla Hill on January 29, 2017.
Dolores was born September 2, 1937 in Ocean Falls B.C. and lived her whole life in Vancouver.
She is pre-deceased by her Father Carl Hill, Mother Elva Millns, and her Step-father Len Millns.
Dolores is survived by her brother Ed Hill and his family, her children, Danny, Tammy (Albert), Cindy (Joe), Cory (Jenny) and her children by choice, Tracy and Dennis.
She will be missed by her precious grandchildren, Jason, Amber, Bria, Ciara, Fiona, Christal, Tyson, Krymson, Ammie, Shayle, Adam, Carlen, Summer, Jacob, Britt, Demi and Zara, as well as the countless foster children whom she cared for through over 30 years as a foster parent.
Mom always said that her greatest accomplishment was her children. Her unconditional love, caring nature and her teachings of respect and responsibility shaped us into the adults she was proud of. Her caring nature carried over to her friends and her foster children; Mom was selfless to a fault.
Her door was always open to us and our friends. A cup of tea, cinnamon or peanut butter toast or her famous grilled cheese were the best, though, her snacks were second only to her company. We’ll all miss her silly jokes, her smile, her heart of gold but most of all, her endearing love for all of us; she will forever be in our hearts.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms around you
And whispered "Come to me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly slipped away
And though we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating
Your tired hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
