Dominic immigrated to Vancouver in the early 1970s, and graduated from John Oliver Secondary School and then the University of British Columbia with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as a professional engineer for almost 40 years, first at BC Tel, Rogers, and Norsat, and later as a consulting engineer for Comcast, Nortel, Telus, Novus, and many other companies.
In addition to his work, Dominic had many hobbies. His interests included martial arts, hunting, amateur radios, and electronics and science in general. He was also a handyman, and in his later years he spent much of his time renovating his home and working on personal engineering projects.
Finally, Dominic was a family man. As busy as he was with his career, he always found plenty of time to spend with his family. His wife and children will fondly remember their many family vacations, their weekend movie nights, and his unique brand of dad humour.
