Ed grew up in the Vancouver area and joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2006 where he served for 19 years. As a Taiwanese Canadian, Ed felt a strong sense of duty to serve the country that took his family in. His service included postings across Canada and deployments to Afghanistan and Ukraine.
Beyond his service, Ed had an incredible love for animals and was known for feeding stray cats, dogs and even birds whether at home or abroad.
He is survived by his parents, Henry and Marianne; his younger brothers, Peter and David; and the many military brothers and sisters who stood beside him throughout his service.
The family extends their sincere thanks to all of Ed’s close friends who have supported him throughout his life.
