Liz is survived by her brother Gary (Michelle), sister Helga, nieces Monica (Conrad), Alanna (Nik), nephew Andrew (Shannon), grandniece Hayley, grandnephew Dylan, and companion Paul. She is predeceased by her mother Gabriella and her father Alois.
Liz was born in Edmonton, Alberta, 18 months after her parents and older siblings immigrated from Austria. Liz was a sweet, gentle child, who made friends easily. She loved to travel, and as a young adult travelled at every opportunity, spending a couple of years touring Europe and Northern Africa where she had many fun adventures. She was also fond of visiting Mexico and Central America.
Liz worked in many different fields including, as a travel agent, a purchaser for the federal government, and other various clerical positions. She loved researching real estate and working on her computer. She was always curious and interested in learning.
Liz was very passionate about art which led her to take numerous art courses where she learned to create vibrant pieces using many different mediums. Her creativity continued throughout her lifetime and Liz’s friends and family proudly display some of her beautiful works.
Despite coping with illness over the past 20 years, Liz lived her life with determination, bravery, and optimism. She was always positive and grateful, insisting that there were others with more difficult circumstances than hers.
Our dear Liz left us far too soon, and we will miss her generous and empathetic soul so very much.
A "Celebration of life" will be planned in the spring.
