Elizabeth Mackie

February 8th, 1920- August 20th, 2015

Elizabeth Mackie grew up in Victoria, and graduated from the Royal Jubilee Hospital Nursing School, Victoria in 1943. She then worked in Victoria for 20 years as a pediatric nurse.

In 1970 Elizabeth was appointed Director of Residence at Crofton House School and remained there, working closely with the headmistress, Rosalind W. Addison, until her retirement in 1990 when the boarding programme came to an end.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved sister Margaret ¬¬¬¬¬ and brother Gibson Mackie. She is survived by two grand-nieces, Jennifer Skelton (of Yellowknife) and Kathy Skelton (of Toronto).

Elizabeth will be remembered for the kind care she gave to those under her charge, as well as her good humour and common sense. She spent her final years in good care at St. Jude’s Anglican Home continuing her crossword puzzles and keeping up with current affairs.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th at 2:00pm at St. Jude’s Anglican Home. 810 West 27th Avenue Vancouver BC.
