Emil Blumke

With heartfelt sadness we share the peaceful passing of Emil Blumke at the age of 82, who went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2016. Emil was born in Dratowski, Poland on July 7, 1933. He passed away at home in Vancouver surrounded by his beloved wife Lena and his daughter Irmgard. Cherished husband, companion and friend of 60 years to Lena (nee Yurkshat), loving Dad to Irmgard, and Edward (Mishele). Proud Opa to Zachariah and Mikaela Blumke. Brother to Tala Kelm, Lydia (Gunther) Gropp , Irma Abramszyk, Waldemar (Marilyn), Willi and sister-in-law Melita Blumke . He was predeceased by his parents Adolf and Olga and his brothers Edmund (Maria), Otto and brother-in-laws Harry Abramszyk and Adoff Kelm. Emil enjoyed gardening and shared his love of camping, fishing and an appreciation of travel with his family. He was a kind, gentle, considerate and caring man who deeply loved his family and always made time to help his friends and family. He and saw humor in the small things in life and laughed often. He will be missed.
