Eric Graholm was born to Vilma and Thomas Graholm on June - 1934, in Mission City BC. Growing up in rural Stave Falls, he developed a real passion for the outdoors, so after graduating from Mission High School with honours, he was inspired to earn a Forestry Engineering degree at UBC. Then, while working for the provincial government in Victoria, he met Margueritte, and they were married in 1960. He recently said that this was one of the best decisions he made in his life.
Eric served in the RCAF in the early 60's, stationed in Ontario and Manitoba, before returning to BC to work for BC Hydro, at first in the Cariboo region but eventually in Vancouver, where he and his young family permanently settled. After he left BC Hydro, he branched out into other business ventures including stock trading and investments. He was always very fit and continued to be physically active for as long as he was able. He enjoyed watching wildlife and feeding the songbirds while caring for his yard. He also was fond of travelling, especially driving excursions to the US. Throughout it all, he was ever devoted to his faith and love for God.
Eric passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025 . He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Vilma, and by his younger brother Leonard (2024). He is lovingly survived by Margueritte, his wife for more than 64 years, daughters Marianne, Susan and Jennifer (Daniel), six grandchildren, one great grand daughter, sister-in-law, relatives and friends.
A special Thank You goes out to the caring people at Broadway Lodge, whose companionship and compassion made the last 15 months of his precious life so much better for all of us.
Eric will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
