January 1, 1928 – January 3, 2011
With great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend in her 83rd year. Mama (Precy, Opro to friends and family members) was predeceased by our father Luis In March 2009. She was born in Catanduanes, Philippines, where she grew up, became a school teacher, and met the love of her life. How she loved telling us the story of how they met and their courtship! After they got married in Virac in 1951, they moved to Manila where they raised their six daughters and four sons. They were proud parents who worked hard to make sure their children had good education and were raised properly with so much love. She is survived by her children Bernadette (husband Joe), Marilou (husband Ric), Susan (husband Gene), Carmen (husband Roger), Jose (wife Vicky) Elizabeth (husband Tommy), Michael (wife Nena), Luis Jr., Maricel and Rommel, 17 grandchildren and 2 great-children.
In 1981, Mama and Papa moved to Vancouver together with seven of their children. She worked at the Army & Navy until 1987.
Mama is a survivor, a great cook, a wonderful seamstress, a great friend to those who really knew her and most of all, a wonderful mother. She did survive cancer in 1987 but she never survived the loss of her husband. They were a great team who enjoyed life and love so profoundly.
