

Sadly, we announce our dear relative Eugene Mansen Horich passed away on October 17, 2024 in North Vancouver. Eugene was born to his Late mother Dawn Beverly (nee Moody) and Horst Ernst Horich in Vancouver and descends from Squamish Nation and Ludenscheid, Germany. Eugene grew up on the westside of Vancouver and attended Edith Cavell Elementary School, Kitsilano High, and Capilano University.
Eugene will be remembered for many different skills. In his younger days he could be remembered as a fast bike rider as he serviced Vancouver East Side Courier Services. He worked at Squamish Nation, Smoke Shop, a Mosquito Creek Marina Business where bird houses were built, and he was a supervisor at a construction site where he was credited for saving a man’s life.
Eugene was very athletic and outdoorsy, he played soccer and was the captain for Capilano University Soccer team ; he beach combed, hunted and fished. He had a passion for music, played piano, sang opera music; and was active in many choirs. He attended church regularly and a passion for his Lord and Saviour. He wrote daily in a journal about his strong faith in the Lord.
Eugene will be dearly missed by his Sister Yvonne Beatrice Brekke; brother Samuel Paul Rogers; special brother Howard Brekke; Nieces & Nephew Crystal Brekke, Samantha Brekke; James Rogers, Amber Garcia; Grandniece Guinevere; special friends Seargent Michael Garcia, Nory & Alexis; and many, many loving relatives and dear friends. The following arrangements have been made:
