OBITUARY

Eugene Nicklas Kozier

May 2, 1936 – January 8, 2025
Obituary of Eugene Nicklas Kozier
IN THE CARE OF

Hamilton Harron Funeral Home

Eugene Nicklas Kozier passed away peacefully January 8, 2025. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joanne, sister Gail Stoltz, and sister in law Sheila Sakich and his many nieces and nephews.

Gene had a very active and full life. He was an adventurous traveller, trips included taking an old bus through the Karakoram Pass in the Himalayan mountains to a three year, 35,000 km sailing trip to the South Pacific and Japan on his sail boat ‘Alrisha’. He had an independent spirit and a true "do it your selfer”, building his own home and sail boats. (He was always up for a challenge.)

Later in life Gene was drawn back to his “Lulu Island” farming roots and developed a beautiful garden at his home on Deer Lake in Burnaby. He became an active and lifetime member of the South Burnaby Garden Club. He loved dividing and sharing his plants. There are probably some of his mother’s beautiful Dahlias blooming in member’s gardens.

We wish to thank the Palliative Care staff at Burnaby General Hospital for the compassionate care Gene received.

Gene will be greatly missed and forever remembered with love. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
