It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Gayle Jenkins, after a lengthy battle with ill health. Gayle was born in Prince Albert, SK on June 25, 1950 and was the 9th child of 12, to her parents, Norm and Edna Jenkins. At the age of 14, her mother relocated her and the younger siblings to 100 Mile House, BC. At the age of 19, she became a single parent to a beautiful little girl, Michelle. She worked hard to raise and provide for her daughter. Gayle’s life was not an easy one as she struggled through many hardships. She was very strong-willed and vocal in her opinions, as anyone who knew her would attest to that. Gayle is survived by her four sisters: Jean (Ken) Guedo of Prince Albert, SK; Marie (Kurt) Zwingli of Kamloops, BC; Linda (Rob) Spiers of Prince George, BC and Sandra Barnes, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and in particular, 4 special friends, Angelo Viani, Maria Mudry, Nonna Bertucci and Don Miernecki. Gayle is predeceased by her parents Norm and Edna Jenkins, sister Marlene McDonald, Nancy Dupre, Mina (4 years old), Rosemary (in infancy), brothers, Bud, Stan and Ed and her precious daughter, Michelle. A Celebration of Life will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 3:00 pm. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Jenkins family.
