Georgia Donatos (Vangos) Loukas, 64, of Vancouver, BC, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her family home, on Monday, February 5th, 2024. Fortunately, she was in the presence of her loving family.
Georgia was born on September 27, 1959, to Donatos and Pauline “Polixeni” (Bistas) Vangos in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was one of four children: Maria; late Christos; Angelo. She is predeceased by her father Donatos, mother Pauline, and brother Christos. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Spyros, daughter Yiana, and son Spiros.
Georgia began her life in Worcester, spending her childhood and early adult years in her hometown into early adulthood. She was an adventurous soul, who lived in Athens, Greece, Worcester, MA and Redondo Beach, CA during her young to late twenties. Georgia met Spyros at a reunion between her father and his, who were childhood friends. Their marriage tied the bond between two families into one; in 1989, she and Spyros were bonded by marriage in Worcester, MA and began to build a life together, followed by moving to Vancouver where Spyros and the Loukas Family live.
By 1996, Georgia and Spyros brought two children into the world, and joined the Loukas family business as a team. She was a beacon of empathy throughout her life - she brought forth her tenacity, unity and dedication for the betterment of everyone around her. She was an integral part of everyone's lives of which she touched, and endlessly gave herself to those around her. She was deeply connected to an infinite amount of people.
In both family and professional life she persevered and exuded resilience in any situation, she was truly a strong woman. Her many achievements speak for themselves and her humility kept her grounded. When Georgia walked into a room she shined with positive energy, asserted her beliefs and was a force of nature.
In 2021, Georgia retired, focusing her time and energy doing the things she most loved - taking care of those around her through her exceptional meals, wisdom and embracing personality.
She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity.
Forever in our hearts. May her memory be eternal.
A funeral service for Georgia will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11:00 AM at St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4500 Arbutus Street, Vancouver, BC.

Sincerely,
The Loukas Family
We little knew that morning
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you
You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories
Your love is still our guide,
And although we cannot see you
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.
