

Gunter Wilhelm Braun was born in Krefeld-Linn, Germany on January 17, 1929. to Henrietta and Fritz Braun. He traveled to Canada after World War II in 1951. He was 22 years old. He worked his way across Canada and settled in Youbou on Vancouver Island. Shortly thereafter he married Anny Braun and began raising 3 children. When the family moved to the mainland, he worked for McMillan Bloedel until he retired as a General Foreman. Before retiring, he married Ella Braun. She brought her two children to the family.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Ella Braun, parents Henrietta and Fritz Braun, brothers Fritz and Heinz Braun, son Rolf Braun, and cousin Sandy Murray.
He is survived by his son Lothar Braun (Bonnie), daughters Margret Bergen, Helen Scott (Les), step-daughter Diane Pillai (Chandra) and step-son Robert Wehry, Grandchildren Nicci Braun, Julie, Andrea, and Nolan Miskimmin, Corey Bergen, Christy Terry, Katie Lundeen, Amanda Altona, Josh Scott, Shawn and Myles Pillai.
