Dear Warren, Laurel, Derek and Jennifer, 
I wanted to praise you for the amazing job you all did  with the tribute to your dad. It was certainly confirmed that he had a pretty awesome life and will be missed dearly.
There were so many stories to hear and I thought I would share another:
It was late September 1977 and Mr. Brooker had some business in Osoyoos and let Laurel and myself join him for the weekend. Of course we were thrilled to get a chance to spend another weekend in Osoyoos so we drove up in his Monte Carlo. The weekend went by way to quick and we were once again on our way home. Well as soon as we were on the other side of Hope Mr. Brooker pulls over and asks "Patti, you wanna  drive us home?" Well I only had my license for maybe 3 months and was thrilled to drive this big fancy car on a fast highway so I said "Sure!" so....Mr. Brooker and I traded places ....me in the drivers seat and he in the backseat. I drove us home while Bert stretched out in the back seat and had a real good nap (yes there was snoring). Anyways,  we made it home safe and sound, Mr Brooker good and refreshed and I with a new appreciation for bucket seats.
"Why this silly story " you are asking.....well I wanted to confirm  that your dad knew how comfortable that backseat was so it could only be perfect for his 4 kids and road trips     🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗

A few of us at City Hall in New Westminster helped out at the BC Summer Senior games  when they were held in New Westminster in 1979. 
Bert was on our team and we had a lot of fun together  in organizing our responsibilities.
What a wonderful, kind man, full of smiles & humour!
 I was lucky enough to continue to see Bert at the International Union of Operating Engineers Christmas parties.

Our hearts and condolences go out to his family.

I will miss the Bookend at the upper end of the family,  Bert, you were a joy, keeping me as the lower end Bookend, in the loop as to what was happening in the family.  I will not forget when my dad had four Brooker’s including you golfing at the club.  It was a kick for me to hear the starter calling “Brooker, Brooker, Brooker and Brooker”.

Goodbye dear friend. So many times we hiked the Grouse Grind together, shared laughs and revitalized memories of our working in our respective pension plans. You were an amazing man to walk with along the Quay ... it was always slowed down by the people you chatted with. You were a gregarious person Bert, and I was proud to call you friend. You and Marion and then just you welcomed Bozena and I into your home so many times, and I miss those times. I met your family and offer each of them my and Bozena's condolences. So many memories pass with your passing Bert.  Love you Bert.
