DEAR KAREN,
VERY SAD TO HEAR OF HIDEO'S DEATH. I ONLY HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING HIM TWICE BUT BOTH OPPORTUNITIES WERE INSPIRING. ALMOST 97 YEARS IS A LONG TIME TO DO A LOT OF THINKING AND HE SURELY HAD ONE OF THOSE REMARKABLE INQUISITIVE MINDS.
CONDOLENCES TO YOU, GRACE, BONNIE AND TED.

Dear Karen:
I was sad to hear of your father's passing but I know he lived a long and happy life and had the luxury of having great family support. I can not help but think of you and your family everytime I visit my favorite Marine Store in Steveston. I am sure he will be missed by you, your family and all his friends.

It was a pleasure getting to know you over the last few years Duggy and I am happy to have had the chance to share many good memories with you. In particular, watching Canucks games in your living room, working in your garden, talking about fishing, and especially our day on the big bike! I have been very lucky to become part of your family and you will be deeply missed by all of us.

Dear Grace, Ted, Bonnie and Karen
I have fond memories of your father while I lived at Pacific coast Camp. Your mom and dad were most gracious and kind and every time your dad saw me he expressed great pleasure in seeing me. He always inquired about my dad's health and well being. Your father lived a very long and honororable life of which you should all be proud of.

Dear Grace, Bonnie, Ted and Karen,
As I said to Grace on the phone Friday evening, I was always flattered and amazed by how enthusiastically your father greeted me ( Jimmy!) even after we had not seen each other for some time. I'll always remember his vibrant spirit.
Love to all the family,
Jim

Dear Grace, Bonnie (Bill) Ted, Karen
One of the most memorable (although vicarious) memories in the recent past is of Duggie and the family in the Vancouver Bike Race. It reminded me of the epic Cleopatra scene and I am sure Duggie felt every bit as important and loved supported by the entire family and friends and feasting later at the Japanese restaurant. Another image is his verdant vegetable garden of which Duggie was so proud. What a wonderful life, well lived.
To the immediate family, and particularly to Bonnie and Bill, our sincere condolences.
Love,
Don, Susan and Drew Murakami
