After graduating Hosei University, in Tokyo and working for Ricoh in sales for a few years, he returned to Yamaguchi and helped the family business with office equipment.
In 1984, Hideo married Chieko (Nakahama) and they raised two children, Aimi (1987), Shuhei (1989).
After visiting Canada for the first time in 1990, Hideo fell in love with Vancouver and resolved to move to Vancouver to raise the family one day. That dream finally came true when he obtained permanent resident status to live in Canada in 2001. The family moved to Canada in 2002 without any initial prospect of employment. However with his experience and skills, he later started working for Automation One, as an accounts sales agent, soon he became well known in the Japanese business community for his dedicated customer services work ethic.
In 2017 his first grandson, Levi was born to his son Shuhei and his wife Maiko.
Hideo was also a seasoned table tennis player since his high school days, with the latest accolade of taking the second place in 2019, in the over 60’s category in BC. He always said that he was going to be “an active table tennis player even at the age of 100”.
His warm smile and kind and gentle mannerism were loved by so many who have known Hideo. He will be dearly missed.
