Hung Minh Dinh
March 22, 1963 – September 30, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hung Minh Dinh, a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather on Wednesday, September 30th, 2020.
Hung passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital with his wife by his side.
Hung is survived by his wife, Duyen, and their daughter Fiona; his first wife, Theresa Lam; their eldest son, Darrel (wife, Caroline Lam), grandson, Connor; and younger son, Darren. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phuoc Van Dinh; his two older brothers, Son Minh Dinh (wife, Xuan Thi Dinh); Hai Trung Dinh (wife, Hang Julianne Dinh); his four younger sisters, Ha Thu Dinh (husband, Thanh Van Nguyen); Van Thu Dinh (husband, Le Thao Ho); Chau Ngoc Dinh (husband, Le Trung Quan); and Suong Ngoc Dinh (husband, Joseph Bui). Hung is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Hung was born in My Tho, Vietnam in 1963. He left the country in the early 1980's where he met his first wife in a refugee camp in Malaysia. They arrived and settled in Regina, Canada in 1981 where he worked different jobs to support his family until he and his family moved to Vancouver in 1983. Hung was a great handyman. He was always ready to roll up his sleeves to fix his home and the homes of family's. Hung loved sports. He loved learning how to ice skate, learning how to swim and watching his favorite hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks.
Above all else, Hung was a dedicated family man. He loved spending time with his children. He enjoyed taking his daughter skating and swimming so they could share in his pastimes. He would call up his son Darren to take him for lunch and connect with his eldest son Darrel over facetime. He always had a smile when he talked or spent time with his grandson, Connor. And at family gatherings, Hung loved singing, playing guitar, dancing, and bringing everyone together.
Hung will be fondly remembered by family and friends.
