It's very sad for me to learn of Jim Spooner's passing. He was the father of my two very good childhood friends, Michael and Robert. I only knew him through my association with his boys but I always felt he was a cool dad. Seeing the older pictures of him I can recognize him easily, especially in the fire fighter gear. He looks like he was a man of the outdoors and adventure.

My condolences to Michael and Robert. I hope your dad remained vigorous and funny until the very end.

Very saddened to hear the bad news. Only fond memories of Mr. S as I was growing up in Surrey many years ago. Wish I could have been present at funeral. Sincere condolences to Mike , Rob and Mrs. S.

So sorry to hear of Jim's passing he was one of the best Fire Fighters at Hall # 3 Surrey and also a very good friend for many years and he was a person that would always be there to help when needed and he will be missed our thoughts are with you Rose and all the family Gordon and Norma Mason Oliver BC and all our family at the Coast.

Jim and I worked as drivers( briefly) in '73-'74 before "Spoon" went on to the management ranks at Safeway trucking. Jim was an easygoing, fair minded, and empathetic supervisor with the drivers. I'd be remiss not to mention the arrival in '96 of Summit Logistics and the unwarranted pressure placed on Jim, his fellow managers, and the drivers they supervised. Through that grim period Jim never lost his empathy for or the respect of the men. A good guy gone to soon. I'm glad I saw Spoon a month ago at his Wednesday "church" service at Kennedy's. My condolences to Rose and family.

What can you say about Jim Spooner? He was simply the BEST and BETTER than ALL THE REST!!!!!! Going to miss you our friend Thanks for the memories and the stories! Love Ya Candy and Ron!
